Children’s Choir

9:45 AM Sunday Mornings
The children’s choirs are an extension of Christian education. Christian character is taught and developed through participation in the Children’s Choir Program. A study program of great hymns and anthems, church symbols and seasons, scriptures, and the art of good singing are vital to this program. Parents of all choristers are encouraged to serve as choir helper by assisting the director.

All children ages 3 to 12 are welcome to participate in our Sunday School program. Childcare for younger children is available during the worship service. Children will have the opportunity to participate in our worship services in a number of capacities: reading scripture, plays, puppets, skits, singing, and performing in Christmas and Easter pageants.

Family Worship

11:00 AM Sunday Mornings

The first section of our worship service is designed with children’s participation in mind. Structured as a worship service in miniature, families can worship together in a child-friendly environment. Designed to create discussion opportunities between children and parents, the family service consists of prayer, singing, scripture and a special sermon just for kids with the help of Chuckie the Church Mouse.

Chuckie is a friendly puppet who engages children through laughter, excitement and a lesson for kids of all ages. Children love Chuckie. Each weekly children’s sermon is offered by Chuckie and trained individuals to teach

Christ United Methodist offers a weekly children’s sermon by trained individuals with the help of Chuckie the Church Mouse.

Children’s Church

Immediately following the Children’s Sermon, kids ages 3—3rd grade are invited to participate in Children’s Church. Our Children’s Church is a dynamic experience of activities and fun that prepares kids for full worship using child-friendly techniques. Children are free to ask questions and explore Christian faith and worship on their own level.

Children/Family Activities

Sometimes it’s good to just have fun! Our church activities provide fun opportunities for families to bond and for kids to get to know each other. Our activities include:

*Family Movie and Fun Nights
*Fall Festival
*Easter Egg Hunt
*Blessing of the Animals
*Gardening Activities
And many more!

According to kids, the top 5 reasons they are involved with a group are: Acceptance, Fun, Real teaching, Friends, Truth. They want to listen to someone who understands what they’re going through, including the process of figuring out who they are and where they belong. Like all human beings, they want their lives to have purpose, to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Jesus can use you to impact these kids, and while fun activities for kids are good, they can be the avenue to gain the trust of your group and point them toward the purpose for their lives.
